ELITE RECRUITING PROSPECT 2010

Class: 2010
Hometown: Escalon, CA
High School: Escalon Cougars

Height / Weight: 5/10 / 185
Position: K/RB

General Area Workouts for Pro Teams: N/A

Scouting (Staff):
Paul Assad, Pro College Football Player Development and Scouting comments: Has outsanding strength and ability. Needs to work at just kicking. Plays so many positions the player is either exhausted or not able to focus on the needs of the position creating inconsistency. Once this player focuses on kicking can be a D1 prospect. Brother Chris is a Sacramento State and was All District outstanding High School kicker for the Escalon Cougars.

Cal Hi Sports Pre Season:
PK – Jason Diniz (Escalon) 5-10, 185, Sr.

He may be our selection at kicker after he went 52-for-52 on extra points and had five field goals while forcing 24 touchbacks on kickoffs. But Diniz can also play other positions if needed. On offense, he rushed for 615 yards and five touchdowns and added eight receptions for 140 yards and four touchdowns in the passing game. He also recorded 40 tackles on defense.

UPDATED JULY 5TH, 2009:
Dramatically better field goals approach, balance and timing. Was kicking 60 yard field goals off the ground. Working on trajectory and finer points. Would like to see him stay on his base and kick thru the ball more..showed some very nice kicks today and booming long kick off's among the best in the nation at the prep level.

UPDATED JULY 6, 2009: Worked a ton on field goals and off the ground technique. Elevation significantly improved. Set up and weight shift and motion steadily improving. Kicked 100% 20 to 55 yards charting today. Plans to kick for Cal Poly Skills Camp this weekend. Should be offered...

UPDATED JUNE 2, 2009:
Attended Stanford Camp..was a finalist in Kick off competition. Recently made adjustments to technique positon, stepping pattern and upswing leg action since the camp and Demonstrated 80 yd. 4 plus second kick off's among the nations best top 5 players. Field Goals are still transitioning off the ground. Immediate D1A player. Offer immediately. This player is local and will develop over the summer, fall, spring winter before reporting to camp for freshmen season. Plans on Cal Poly Skills Camp..probably will be offered. Late bloomer.
