UPDATE:
AUSSICKER KICKS THE DIFFERENCE - Congratulations to Assad College Alumni Mr. Nick Aussieker's who nailed his Illini State career-long 42-yard fourth quarter field goal was the difference as No. 12 Illinois State (5-0, 2-0 MVFC) rallied for a 34-31 Missouri Valley Football Conference victory over South Dakota (1-3, 0-1 MVFC) Saturday afternoon at the DakotaDome. With five consecutive victories to open the season, Illinois State is off to its best start since 1967.

Aussieker's field goal capped a perfect afternoon for the sophomore kicker, who added a 22 yard field goal on ISU's opening drive and made all four extra point attempts and pounded 2 Kick Off's for Touchbacks.

Scouting (Staff):
Paul Assad, Pro College Football Player Development and Scouting comments:
JUNE 2008: Very hard worker. Quick leg. Accurate. Needs elevation on field goals off the ground and kick offs but has decent distance. Good pop on the ball..player to watch.

UPDATE July 9, 2009: Very big day for Nick. Jumped up in ranking. Made transition on kick off's to 72 yard 4.03 kick off with a slight breeze to his back. Charted field goals off the ground 20-50 yards with just one slight miss hit and drilled his 50 yard field goal by 8-10 yards. His biggest improvement is that he's in a much more complimentary position to kick the ball with power and elevation and is becoming systematic about his kicking. Definite College Prospect to watch.
Updated July 2011:
Nick has certainly improved his strength and size and power as he demonstrated powerful field goals and kick off's that traveled into the endzone from the 30 yard line with outstanding progression on his field goal and kick off technique. He is learning to apply more pressure to the ball, stay balanced and move more efficiently through his kicks. Efficiency. He should not only win the starting spot but be a league if not national standout with early projections as a future possible All American and next level player if he stays focused. Outstanding young man you like to see succeed.
