Scouting (Staff):
Pro College Football Player Development and Scouting comments: Has worked with Paul Assad since high school originally as a kicker turning down scholarship offers to play for Rice. He was outstanding but the circumstances at Rice he developed his punting ability while handling the kick offs. Has ability to develop much further. Fast learner with good work ethic. Could be a player to watch as he develops his strength and technique.

UPDATED JULY 11, 2009: Dramatic improvement on kick off power, approach footwork, leveraging from the plant and creating more foot speed thru impact. Working on leg action efficiency wants to use the upper leg muscle groups too much at times and not creating the whip he needs. Improved his kick off's inside 5 and some into the endzone 3.7-3.98 hang time and improved his punting accerleration thru and out impact

Rice-- Walk-on who took over the kickoff duties down the stretch to earn his first letter.
2008-- Took over kickoff duties against Army...opponents averaged 14.7 yards per return over the last four games (20.2 in the first eight games)... made his kickoff debut vs. UTEP... made his collegiate debut with a 32-yard punt vs. Southern Miss after Kyle Martens was injured late in the game.

2007-- Redshirt

High School-- Second-team all state selection in football at Cherokee Trail High for coach Monte Thelen... averaged 41.7 as a punter as Cherokee reached the playoffs for the first time in school history... Earned all state honors in soccer as well, leading the Cougars to the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history... also played basketball during the winter and earned first-team academic all-state honors in all three sports as a senior... Valedictorian of his class and a National Merit Commended Scholar...Finalist for the Steinmark Award as the top student athlete in Colorado.
