Scouting (Staff):Pro College Football Player Development and Scouting comments: Has been personnally coached by Paul Assad since freshmen season. Brother is Brett Jaekle, Nevada Kicker named All WAC first team 2008 fall season. Has incredible foot speed and ability. Has handled long field goals and kick off's. Already, knocking down several 50 plus field goals without having the rythm of kicking extra points. Kicks Off tremendously almost nailing touchbacks everytime. Has perhaps, an NFL future. Has trained with many NFL Kickers thru Pro College Football including Mason Crosby, Green Bay Packers. Holds his own against any kicker in the nation if not better in competitions. Has demonstrated range back to nearly 70 yards in practices and with improved trajectory on kicks can be the nations finest kicker.

CAREER:
UNLV: A former walk-on from Las Vegas who got an unexpected early jump on his college career as he was pushed into duty as a true freshman because of injury ... Gained fame in 2006 when he was called from out of the stands to replace a fallen starter ... Awarded a scholarship for 2008 and will compete with Kyle Watson for team's kickoff and place-kicking duties this fall ... Has added weight since joining program and turned in strong spring practice ... Earned a spot on the Dean's List last fall and spring.

2007: Redshirted.

2006: Earned his first letter as a Rebel by playing in all 12 games ... After originally intending to redshirt, he earned national recognition after he was literally called from the stands to suit up in Game One when starter Sergio Aguayo was seriously injured ... Took a phone call from head coach Mike Sanford and headed to the locker room to get into uniform ... Entered the game in the second half and hit all three of his extra-point attempts and a 26-yard field goal to start his career ... Also made a field goal at Iowa State the next week ... With Aguayo back in action in Game Four, Jaekle spent the rest of the season kicking off ... Finished 5-6 on extra points and 2-4 in field goals.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of Bonanza HS ... Two-time letterwinner under coach Eric DeYoung ... Named first team all-state as a punter during junior season and first team all-conference as both a punter and kicker as a senior ... Booted a 54-yard field goal against Rancho HS ... Also lettered in basketball and golf.

PERSONAL: Ben Steven Jaekle was born on March 28, 1988, in Las Vegas ... The son of George Jaekle and Lorry Kristal ... Has two older brothers, Derek and Brett ... Brett is the starting place-kicker at UNR and will be a senior this fall ... The two brothers faced each other last season in the Battle for the Fremont Cannon on Sept. 29 ...
