Paul Assad, Pro College Football Player Development and Scouting comments:
SEPT. 2011 UPDATE

Evaluations and Recommendations:
:Player has one of the strongest if not strongest legs in the country as a redshirt freshmen. First game start in 2011 vs Houston with a tough start. Player has been indicating he is pressing and felt it his inconsistency is mental from pressing in previous recent conversations.

Evaluation: In short, evaluation shows he is off-line. It seems that this right leg kicker's kicking leg is not on-plain nor on-line through impact so he's coming across the ball or pushing it most likely, as a result of compensations to posture, balance and not being in position to be aggressive on the acceleration line.

Note: His plant foot has become shallower then last time he worked with Coach Assad as a Senior at Legacy High School in advance to his senior season.

NEW WORKOUT POST INJURY FILM DEMONSTRATING KICKING AND PUNTING. REFERENCE COACH ASSAD ABOUT THIS PLAYER THAT HAS 60 PLUS YARD FIELD GOALS, 81 YD. KICK OFF'S OVER 4.2 ABILITY AND 50 YD. / 5.0 SECOND PUNTING ABILITY.

Recommendations:
1. Player should made adjustments to plant foot position adding more depth.
2. His shoulder line and angle to the ball. His posture and static activation of the core at the plant foot to create segmental stablelization of the plant leg and core together to enabling better leverage for speed and control of the kicking leg.
3. He also, has the kicking leg knee pre set at the plant to inside the target line to enable getting the kicking leg - "On-Plain".

Key Adjustments to the sequencing of his timing of the footwork, with delay to from the jab foot to the plant, creating greater balance, ability to enable segmental stabilization and with with the kicking leg stretching the hips on the backswing to create tension and greater range emotion to his leg action. This sequence creates speed on the down swing where the player allows the knee to drop under the body on-plain and focuses on speed of the upswing and finally, able to hold the finish posture on line to target - all this with much less to think about focusing on his tempo and target fixation. 55 yard field goals with ease and tremendous trajectory. When the player has his balance and has achieved segmental stablization at the plant foot and then he can control the kicking leg and line.
