Tragically former Modesto Junior College and Central Catholic High School in Modesto, CA player Matt Burkett was involved in a car accident and he was taken from us on Dec. 1, 2011. A Scholarship from Coach Assad's Pro College Football in the name of Matt Burkett is being established.

Staff Scouting:
Paul Assad, Pro College Football: Player Development and Scouting. Strong, athletic, smart, hard worker. Technique developing. Seems to have a legitimate D1 leg. Has 50-56 yard range in practic with broken in balls.

Update: Nov. 20, 2008: Occasionally looks really good in practice on technique and ball flight ability but still needs to be more consistent and execute in team/game situations for next level referral.

Update: Nov. 9, 2008 - Demonstrating outstanding kicking ability recently. Improving footwork and foot speed and consistency. Looking like a solid Div. 1 Kicker. Gets the ball up quick on FG and can hit 65-71 yard Kick Off's 3.7 range. Can punt also.

Update: Feb. 09 - Has dramatically improved this fall and spring. Kick Offs are booming now. Made recent adjustments to stepping and set up. Has improved strength levels dramatically as well. Looking like a solid Prospect.

Top Area Player: Senior Season 2007

Was all district standout playing for Central Catholic High School in Modesto, CA. Kicked a high number of touchbacks and scored lots of points. Kicked a career long in the Regional Area District Championship 42 yard.

Was apart of three section championships at Central Catholic High School. Matt went on to be a kicker for the Modesto Junior College football team and was a member of one Conference Championship, and two Graffiti bowl Championship teams. Matt was named to the first team All WAC Conference as a kicker, as well as first team all section kicker.
